The budget proposal is a component of your project proposal. It is important to have a budget that is as detailed as possible to prevent under or over utilisation of funds.

The project budget should be presented in a table, clearly showing details on the income and expenditure.

Income:
  •  Any forms of revenue, i.e. from sales of tickets, rental of booth space
  • Sponsorships
  • Grants from government and other agencies
  • Tabulate Total Income

Expenditure:

  • Decoration/Backdrop
  • Potted Plants
  • Publicity Materials
  • Printing of tickets/programme booklets
  • Certificates/Plaques
  • Tables/Chairs Rental
  • Sound System
  • Food/Refreshments
  • Games stalls
  • Programme, i.e. Performance, allowance for Emcee
  • Lucky Draw prizes
  • Meals for volunteers
  • Miscellaneous - provides a buffer
  • Tabulate Total Expenditure

Next, calculate the surplus or deficit that the project would incur. The budget is then proposed to the organisation/company/department for approval. Once approved, there should not be too much revision of the budget and the resultant surplus/deficit should not deviate too far from your budget plan.
