The budget proposal is a component of your project proposal. It is important to have a budget that is as detailed as possible to prevent under or over utilisation of funds. The project budget should be presented in a table, clearly showing details on the income and expenditure. Income:- Any forms of revenue, i.e. from sales of tickets, rental of booth space
- Sponsorships
- Grants from government and other agencies
- Tabulate Total Income
Expenditure:
- Decoration/Backdrop
- Potted Plants
- Publicity Materials
- Printing of tickets/programme booklets
- Certificates/Plaques
- Tables/Chairs Rental
- Sound System
- Food/Refreshments
- Games stalls
- Programme, i.e. Performance, allowance for Emcee
- Lucky Draw prizes
- Meals for volunteers
- Miscellaneous - provides a buffer
- Tabulate Total Expenditure
Next, calculate the surplus or deficit that the project would incur. The budget is then proposed to the organisation/company/department for approval. Once approved, there should not be too much revision of the budget and the resultant surplus/deficit should not deviate too far from your budget plan.
